Maintain the base precious metals used throughout Jewellery ERP. Metal Master will later become the parent reference for Purity, Metal Rates, Products, Inventory and transaction workflows.
- Search
- Current search matches Metal Name only. Example: Gold.
- Metal Name
- Base metal name. Example: Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium.
- Code
- Unique internal ERP code. Example: GOLD, SILVER, PLATINUM.
- Symbol
- Chemical symbol where applicable. Example: Au, Ag, Pt, Pd.
- Default Unit
- Primary weight unit used for the metal. Example: g.
- Color / Finish
- Optional descriptive colour or finish information.
- Display Order
- Controls the preferred order of metals in master lists.
- Status
- Active metals are available for future master-data dropdowns.
Example: GOLD | Gold | Au | g | Active. Rose Gold and White Gold are alloy/colour concepts and should not automatically be created as separate base metals.
Archiving a metal does not permanently remove the database record. Jewellery ERP stores the archive time in deleted_at so the record can be restored through a controlled Trash workflow.
