Help & example — Metal Rate — Metal & Purity Selection
Choose the Metal first. The Purity list automatically shows only purity standards linked to that Metal. Fineness is calculated from the selected Purity Master and cannot be entered manually.
- Metal
- Example: SILVER (SILVER). Select the base metal whose market rate is being entered.
- Purity
- Example: 925 — 92.500%. After selecting Silver, only Silver purities such as 999 and 925 are available.
- Fineness Index
- Automatically calculated from Purity Percentage × 10. Example: 92.500% becomes 925.000. This value is read-only.
- Effective From
- Enter the date from which this rate becomes applicable. Example: 12-Sep-2026.
- Rate / Gram
- Enter the applicable base market rate per gram. Example: ₹125.00 for Silver.
- Buy / Sell Rate
- Optional business rates used when buying from or selling to customers. These can differ from the base market rate.
- Making Charge / Gram
- Optional labour or making charge per gram. Example: ₹150.00 per gram.
Examples: Gold → 24K → 999.000 | Silver → 925 → 925.000 | Platinum → 950 → 950.000. The saved record keeps both relational IDs and historical Metal/Purity snapshot values.
